Jed Steer enjoyed a rollercoaster season in 2014/15.
He finally made his Barclays Premier League debut for Villa in the closing match of the top-flight season.
Steer performed confidently and consistently but Villa were undone 1-0 by a very resolute Burnley team, who were looking to end their campaign on a high after being relegated.
In terms of claret and blue action, that was it for Steer throughout the term.
But the Norwich-born 22-year-old did have other standout moments away from B6.
He joined Doncaster Rovers on loan in August 2014 for three months.
He played 17 games in all competitions and kept a very creditable six clean sheets.
Steer opted for a temporary move to Yeovil Town from October 2014 to January 2015 too.
In that time, he played for the Glovers in their high-profile FA Cup third round match with Man Utd.
The Red Devils overcame a gallant challenge at Huish Park.
Gary Johnson's side belied their status by matching the Premier League superpower before quality finally told on a misty afternoon in Somerset.
Ander Herrera's spectacular strike just after the hour and a second from £59.7m British record signing Angel Di Maria gave Louis van Gaal's side victory.
As well as this game, his penalty save in a goalless draw with Coventry as well as victory over play-off chasing Bradford City were cited as personal highlights during his time with the green and white army.
Steer returned to B6 in the New Year and some months later he was given a boost when new boss Tim Sherwood praised the stopper on his arrival, saying that he had "three good goalkeepers at the club."
Steer will now look for further chances in the 2015/16 campaign.
Steer joined Villa in July 2013.
