Leandro Bacuna's fortunes in claret and blue during 2014/15 peaked after the arrival of Tim Sherwood.

Bacuna was generally used to a place on the bench during the campaign under former boss Paul Lambert.

He started games against Leyton Orient and Crystal Palace and also came on as an impact sub in several matches - but the majority of the time Bacuna started on the bench and stayed there.

That all changed after Sherwood put pen to paper on a deal to boss Villa.

Bacuna scored in the 2-1 FA Cup fifth round win over Leicester - watched by Sherwood in the stands.

And soon enough Bacuna was a vital cog in the claret and blue wheel.

He came on as a sub against Newcastle and West Brom - and then started the FA Cup quarter-final win over the Baggies.

Bacuna then started the majority of games between then and the end of the season, only sitting out the 3-1 loss to Man Utd and the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal - although he did come off the bench in the showpiece.

He is still a vital member of the squad - and regularly used - under new boss RĂ©mi Garde.

Bacuna joined Villa in June 2013 on the same day that Jores Okore put pen to paper on a claret and blue deal with the lions.

The Dutchman, who arrived from Groningen, impressed many with his debut season and made a name for himself as a free-kick expert.

The 23-year-old scored his first Premier League goal in September 2013 in the 3-2 home win over Manchester City.

His second goal came from a free kick in the 2-0 victory over Cardiff City.

He continued his scoring run with goals against West Brom, Everton and Norwich.
